STRIPE – ‘GSD (Get Shit Done)’ (EP)

Luca Strijp, A.K.A. STRIPE, recently dropped off his new EP, ‘G$D (Get Shit Done)‘. The 6-track EP finds STRIPE experimenting with several different flows while eagerly displaying his hunger to make it in the music industry. His viciousness shines through in his hooks and verses, as he looks to truly make an impact in the game. Grabbing features from callmevince, Eli Davis,¬†724x, & illmani, every verse is perfectly sculpted for the project. ‘G$D (Get Shit Done)‘ is introduced with the jazzy, sample-heavy track “Improbable Chance” where STRIPE boasts, “‘How you gonna make a career off of music?’ that’s what they ask me,”. Bars like these really set the vibe for the rest of the project. The flow is memorable, the mix is clean, and the lyrics are infectious.

“I hope to inspire young artists to fuse, blend and create new genres by pushing boundaries and ultimately, getting shit done.” – STRIPE on his goals in music.

Throughout the project,¬†STRIPE taps into several beautiful samples & sounds, bringing life to the old school boom-bap vibe of the 90’s. Even though STRIPE is from Amsterdam and has moved around the world his entire life, this doesn’t impair his ability to get fast flows off smoothly and clearly. Although the run time is only 16 minutes long, the project contains a wide variety of sounds showcasing STRIPE’s¬†effortless versatility. In a time where everybody tries to sound the same, STRIPE distinguishes himself with his own refreshing style. If you’re looking for something new, I definitely recommend checking out the project in its entirety.
