Nashville artist wokszn just released his latest single “Rewind“. The song’s instrumental features a prominent, spooky female vocal chop and is intricately arranged. The track’s producer, ogee, sent him a pack of beats, but he immediately fell in love with this one. The progression of the beat really enables wokszn to experiment with several melodies throughout the track. About midway in, the main melody behind the beat completely transitions into something new, before switching back for the chorus. The transition is subtle but effective, keeping the listener interested for the entirety of the song.
“My goals are to gain a bigger following/fanbase, and continue doing audio engineering as a living” – wokszn on his goals.
The 22-year old artist has been making music for over 3 years now, and it shows. Before, he always had an appreciation for smoking and rapping with his friends. He relayed to us that his biggest influence to begin rapping was J Cole and Skizzy Mars, along with bigbabygucci, who inspired him to crafted his own style. That is when he truly started utilizing autotune to create his own sound. “Rewind” is a small preview of what the young artist has in store for the future. Check out his new release below!
